Almost 15 years ago I have build a big house on a hill, near to the spot where the river  Curimatau flows into the Atlantic Ocean and the spot that offers the best view on the spectacular beauty of Barra do Cunhau. From my place you can look almost 10 km inwards, over the mangrove up to the sugarcane fields behind. On the other side you can clearly spot Baia Formosa, 7 km away. And the ocean, the ocean you can sea up to the horizon, far far away.

On the other side of the river you can see “o Outro Lado”, the other side. Because that's how the locals call the virgin beach that lays in between Barra and Baia Formosa, being a paradise for everybody that loves nature, animals and plants and wandering around. On the river you'll find little sailing boats,  ready to sail you around or to bring you to he other side and the “balsas” loaded with dozens of tourists brought in by luxurous touringcars, there to take a rapid sniff of the mud smell from the mangrove before being brought back to their airconditioned world. And don't forget the Kite-surfers, making their spectacular jumps, filling the air with their colourful kites.

This house of mine is realy big. so I have rooms to rent, simple but clean. There is a place for you to make your own meals, but in case everybody wants to make their meal at the same time, it won't do, so you'll have to arrange yourself with the others. My house ain't a hotel and it ain't even a youthhostel. But backpackers, kitesurfers, people that love to be in nature, well, anyone that is used to take care of him- or herself will feel quite at home I guess. At least you can do your own thing.

There are 4 floors:
1. Downstairs you'll find 80 m2 furnished wih will simple furniture, A living/sleeping room, a sleeping room, a small sitting room, a little kitchen, a bathroom and a place to wash ropes. A big garden with grammar, ornamental plants and a barbecue
2. The second floor is where I live.
3. The third floor has a sitting room with television, a room for playing games and 5 sleeping rooms, three of it suites for a couple and two for a small family.
4. On the fourth floor contains a sitting room, 4 sleeping rooms and a simple kitchen. This is the place to be for poets, painters and people that want to study or just quietly want to read a book. Here you just have the sound of the wind, the ocean and the birds (at least when there ain't any carnaval going on).
There is a separate stairway, so you don't have to cross through any private place.

So there ain't no bar, no room service and no restaurant and I don't serve breakfast, because I don't have any employees to do so. On the other hand, is good value for money, because it's the only place around where you can stay, both of you, or respectively the for of you for these prices:

Room: R$25,00
Downstairs: R$75,00

These prices are valid up to the 1 of december 2006.
