About the Association

The Associação dos Integrantes de Atividades Turísticas, Comerciais e Culturais da Praia de Barra do Cunhaú was founded on the 13 of April 2000 by various people from the local community involved in touristic activities and services, aware of the need to stimulate tourism and promote Barra do Cunhau both nationally and internationally, due to its enormous touristic potential and to promote cultural and touristic events and sports at Barra do Cunhau Beach.

The Association wishes Barra do Cunhau to grow and to be able to receive tourists offering comfort and relaxation but wants this development to happen in an orderly and lasting way and informs and alerts its members in order to do so. The Association is also active in matters of the preservation of the environment, because the quality of life and the beauty of our beaches depend on this.
